BrainardFuneralHome and Cremation Center was founded more than a century ago by two business partners who aimed to provide dignified services with exceptional attention to detail. Throughout the years, ownership passed from one generation to the next and an additional chapel location was added. For the privilege of compiling this History of ColoradoFuneralHome Owners, from their beginning to this present time, 1997, we credit all those relatives, friends, past and present owners who delved into their memories and records to furnish us this writing.

Context Explanation

The Everest Chapel in Weston opened in 2005, expanding available services for people in the greater Wausau area, though the business itself has a long history that stretches back to 1884. In 1982, BrainardFuneralHome opened the first crematory in central and northern Wisconsin. Scott Brainard assumed an ownership role in the family business in 1985, and his father, Robert, retired in 1996 after 45 years of serving area families. That was true when we opened our doors in a small Colorado village over a century ago, and it’s just as true today.
