Chickasha station is a former railway station in Chickasha, Oklahoma. The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad (or Rock Island for short) established a station at Chichasha initially out of a boxcar. [1] The first "permanent" station on the site was a very rudimentary barn -like building.

The magnificent Rock Island Depot and the adjacent Geronimo Hotel and eating house served Chickasha passengers for many generations. Named after the Choctaw word for Chickasaw, an indigenous people of the Southeastern Woodlands, Chickasha was a rough and barren prairie community founded in Indian Territory with the arrival of the Chicago, Rock Island, and Pacific Railways. Through the years the railroad was a vital part of the business and transportation industry in this area. Relocated to Chickasha in 2004 and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005, the school has been preserved and restored as an important part of early Grady County and Oklahoma African American history. At the northeast corner of Third Street and Pennsylvania Avenue stands a beautiful two-story painted brick depot. At one time operated by the AT&SF railroad, this depot is now the headquarters of the ChickashaExpress Star newspaper, a local daily. The museum contains Grady County history from all decades.
